Light at the end of the tunnel?
Well it certainly has been a very long tunnel.
Thank you and well done to our fantastic teaching work force. I find myself exhausted at the end of a day on zoom. But of course I am not dealing with a number of pupils, their engagement, their attitude, their contribution, their … the list goes on.
So I repeat –
Thank you and well done!
What can we learn from our teaching and learning provision through this pandemic period? Some schools are reporting that they will now adapt timings and entry points for pupils arriving at the start of the school day. Others will be moving pupil groups into different classrooms to enable leaders to be more visible and available through the teaching day.
Some leaders are considering how best to incorporate technology into their future teaching and learning provision. This may entail synchronous and asynchronous approaches. Subject leaders are reflecting on which knowledge and skills (pertinent to their subject) pupils need to consolidate. This might form the agenda for asynchronous teaching, with lessons recorded so that pupils can revisit their learning.
We hope that our remote learning audit will help leaders capture this information and subsequently drive further school improvement.
