The pandemic has presented a wide range of significant challenges for schools and their communities, specifically with remote learning. As we move forward, we are considering how best to develop our curriculum and teaching and learning provision. If we can do this in a structured way, we can both evaluate our work and use this reflection to make our future provision even better.
Schools have approached Schoolweave asking if an audit tool could be produced which incorporated current research, considering the new teaching environment and remote learning. We have responded to this by creating a simple remote learning audit tool to support school leaders.
The Remote Learning Audit is structured under 4 headings:
- Impact on learning
- Impact on pupils’ well-being
- Impact on staff well-being
- Transition into new ways of learning
The questions in each section are informed by up-to-date research. Once the remote learning audit is completed, a simple action plan pro forma is provided for your own use.
School leaders already adopting this approach have used the remote learning audit in a variety of ways. For many, this has involved governors and the wider school community.
“We have looked at the recent government resource. We found this audit from schoolweave to be much more practical and relevant to our school.”
Deputy headteacher of a school serving pupils with SEND.
“The audit has enabled us to think carefully about all sorts of associated aspects. We found the section on staff well-being particularly helpful.”
Headteacher of a primary school.
