And so just a week to go until schools, in England, are all pretty much fully open. Once again well done and thank you to our fantastic school staff teams. I hope that this difficult year has provided communities with an insight into the day to day roles of teaching staff.
Acknowledging the tremendous pressure on time, I do hope that school leaders will find time to reflect on their provision over the past few months. What have been the green shoots, or indeed the strong branches, of new approaches to teaching?
It might be helpful to think about how school provision will impact on four key aspects, namely:
- impact on learning
- impact on pupils’ well-being
- impact on staff well-being
- transition into new ways of learning.
Take a look at our remote learning audit to find out how your school has been performing up to now.
Timing is always interesting. I wonder if the announcement last week will enable schools to use the few weeks before the Easter break to ensure that pupils and staff are brought back into school routine securely and safely. Then to use the summer term to continue building on the curriculum that has been delivered over the past few weeks and months. Then a well-earned summer break before embarking on a new academic year.
